The Waipahu High School Jazz Band has been an excellent ensemble for many years, introducing several talented musicians into the music community. At Waipahu, we encourage students to learn multiple instruments to increase their musical versatility. Thus, many of the jazz members are actually doubling (or tripling) on the instruments they play in jazz band.
Past performances have included playing at our Annual Spring Concerts, the OBDA Parade of Jazz Bands, our Aloha Concerts, The Kailua Jazz Festival, the Iolani Big Band Bash, the Kamehameha Jazz Festival, our Waipahu Jazz Festival, and the Blue Note in Waikiki. We have also recently hosted the Ashfield Little Big Band from Australia.
